Art Exploration Session Learning Targets

The purpose of the Art Exploration sessions is to encourage each artist to express themselves and discover your own styles and talents. During each session, a variety of materials will be provided for you to choose from, and experienced art teacher Mr. Noel Newquist will be available to help answer your questions and guide you as you explore. These classes are OPEN TO ALL AGES. You’re never to young or old to start learning about art.

Session Offerings

Session 1 – Exploring Wet Mediums (Sunday Afternoon)
Come explore wet mediums, including various paints, inks, dyes, and more!

Session 2 – Exploring Wet Mediums (Friday Night)
Come explore wet mediums, including various paints, inks, dyes, and more!
Friday, June 15th, 2:00-4:00pm

Session 3 – Exploring Dry Mediums (Sunday Afternoon)
Come explore dry mediums, including various pencils, charcoals, pastels, and more!
Sunday, June 17th, 2:00-4:00pm

Session 4 – Exploring Dry Mediums (Friday Night)
Come explore dry mediums, including various pencils, charcoals, pastels, and more!
Friday, June 29th, 6:30-8:30pm

Showcase from Last Year’s Art Camps

Supplies

Newquii Studios will provide all of the necessary supplies, to include various paints, inks, dyes, pencils, charcoals, pastels, etc. NOTE – Some materials are NOT washable. We recommend that you wear old clothes that you don’t mind getting permanent paint on. As references, students in the Art Exploration courses will use mirrors, photographs, and imagination. If you wish, you may also choose to bring your own supplies and/or photographs in addition to those provided.

Class Size

A maximum of 20 students will be allowed per session. If that threshold is met, we will consider offering the same classes again later in the summer.

Art Instructor

The Art Exploration sessions will be taught by local elementary school art teacher: Noel Newquist, known as Mr. New by students across Madison. As an art teacher for Madison City’s elementary schools, Mr. New has 10 years of experience working with every level of art student, from beginners to national award-winners.
