Learning Targets
In the Wide Open Spaces 2 Advanced Landscape Class, we’re going to take an in-depth look at the element of space. From three-dimensional spaces to positive and negative shapes, students in this class will learn how objects in the foreground, middle ground, and background interact with one another. We will analyze details of lighting conditions, textural elements, and perspective. From understanding color mixing to knowing which brushes to use, we’ll learn techniques for applying acrylic paints to achieve desired outcomes.
Come learn how to use acrylic paints, how to render several 3D spaces, and how to make every aspect of your paintings work together. In the process, students will boost their vocabulary with words like: positive and negative space, composition, perspective, scale, layering, gradients, silhouette, and so much more!
If any of this sounds too complicated, trust that Mr. New will be with you every step of the way. And trust that acrylic painting is a skill that anyone can learn. By the time you complete this class, you’ll be proficient in blending colors and rendering 3D forms and spaces.
