Get Ready for Inktober 2017!
The Inktober challenge is an art phenomenon that sweeps the internet every fall. It was started in 2009 by Jake Parker, who challenged himself to create an ink drawing each day for the entire month of October. Loads of other artists join the festivities each year and post their drawings online for the world to see.
I love challenges like this one because they are a great way to get your creative juices flowing, and get some really helpful practice in. You’re also making your own art that’s just for fun instead of making stuff for a client or for someone else.

The Official Inktober Rules
#1: Make a drawing in ink.
#2: Post it online.
#3: Hashtag it with #inktober and #inktober2017.
#4: Repeat every day of October.
That’s it! There’s also an official list of daily prompts on the inktober website, but those are more like just ideas to get your creativity flowing, and they aren’t necessarily intended to be a strict guide for what you’re supposed to draw.
My Inktober Drawing Supplies
These are the supplies that I will be using for my ink drawings, but they are only recommendations. If you have a preference for a different type of pen or paper, use whatever you’re used to.
