Highlights from Ultimate Color Theory Class
What does color theory mean? How do you mix colors? What is a color wheel, and what do artists do with one? Our Ultimate Color Theory class answered these questions, and so many more! We learned the difference between hue, saturation, and color. We learned how to mix all the colors of the rainbow, as well as the colors that aren’t in the rainbow. What are complimentary colors? What are warm and cool colors, and how do they interact? How do artists choose which colors to use within their paintings? We learned about color schemes, and practiced using them to make both abstract and figurative paintings. We learned how the human eye sees light, and how the source of that light changes every color that we see. In this course, we learned more about color theory than most people even know there is to learn!
This group ranged in age from fifth graders to senior citizens! Regardless of their ability levels upon entering, each was able to expand upon their artistic understanding. With hard work and dedication (and of course a healthy dose of fun and imagination), anyone can learn to draw and paint! In this class, we focused entirely on the element of color.
